Daniel Piper

Daniel Piper received his Eagle Rank today with ceremonies being held at St Ann's Catholic Church under the clock tower.

Daniel joined Cub Scout Pack 841 at Austin Elementary in 1992 as a Tiger Cub. It was there that scouting took hold. In 1994 he moved to Cub Scout Pack 850 at Town Center Elementary. There he joined Den 2, the Scorpion Den under the guidance of Mrs. Janet Nawoj. Through the years of Cub Scouts he was able to achieve Webelo rank and the Arrow of Light. In 1997 he crossed over to Troop 840 where he completed 28 merit badges and the rank of Eagle. Within the troop Daniel has held the position of Patrol Leader and Quartermaster.

Daniel has camped well over 100 nights in his scouting career. He also was fortunate to go on all three high adventure camps, Northern Tier in 2000, Sea Base in 2002, and Philmont Cavalcade in 2003. He has gone to seven summer camps including Camp Pioneer twice, Camp Cherokee , Camp Constantine , Camp James Ray, and Camp Ben Delatour in Colorado .

For his Eagle project Daniel planned, organized and replanted the flower bed in front of Sandy Lake Baptist Church as well as clearing brush from the back of the property and creating mulch from the brush. 25 volunteers logged over 100 hours total.

Daniel is attending Sam Houston State University in Huntsville , TX and is majoring in Criminal Justice with a minor in Military Science .
