Summer Camp 2013

Posted on Feb 2 2013 - 7:49pm

Both of the summer camps that Troop 840 will attend require deposits this month, so it is time to reserve your spot if you have not already done so.

Bartle 2013

Posted on Nov 16 2012 - 12:23pm

We have been assigned Session 3 at Bartle for this coming summer, June 27-July 6. As an out-of-council troop, we do not get first choice, and I apologize that this date is not ideal for everyone. We will be at Lone Star again, in campsite Seneca. Our Camp Scoutmaster will be Mr. Nathan Lacey, and his wife Courtney will also be attending..

If you wish to reserve a slot, and have not signed up or paid your $50 deposit, please go here to do so.  An additional payment will be due in February. I will post more information as it becomes available. Please email lisawoody@verizon.net with any questions.

New "Gaming Community" within Troop 840

Posted on Aug 5 2012 - 6:51pm

In an effort to help the scouts enrich their social interaction with each other, and help the boys find safe players to game (instead of Internet strangers), we are going to try an experiment and help the gaming scouts find each other. On a secure page on the Troop 840 website, we'd like to publish a list of Scouts and Leaders, their GamerTags (online names) and Console & Game preferences -- so that they can more easily find each other.  For more info, go to http://troop840.org/node/2276 .

Calling all t-shirts for recycling

Posted on May 30 2012 - 10:37am

Do you have some Troop 840 green t-shirts that you have outgrown still sitting in your closet? Some of the younger Scouts would love to have some backup shirts for summer camp this year, so if you have t-shirts with "only" 4 holes (neck, waist, and 2 arms) that you are no longer using, please bring them in to add to our clothes closet.  Thanks!

Clothes Closet Reminder

Posted on May 10 2012 - 4:29pm

This is a reminder to all Scouts that if you have outgrown Scoutwear that is still usable, there are new Scouts getting ready for Summer Camp who would love to have it. Smaller size green T-shirts and Scout pants are particularly in demand - think about doing today's good turn by cleaning out your closet and adding to the Troop 840 Clothes Closet. New Scouts, ask a leader at a meeting to see what we have available.
