The T840 web calendar has an event listed for Scouting University, which is a "merit badge college" for Scouts on Saturday, April 14, 2012. See that calendar entry for details and registration information/dates. Register early -- it fills up quickly! The T840 calendar event has a registration page for carpooling only!

Troop 840 Honors

Last night (January 27, 2012) was big for Troop 840 at the (former) Western Star District Dinner. We were presented with the Western Star Cup Camporee Champions Trophy and also the Western Star Friends of Scouting (FoS) Champion Trophy.

Scoutmaster Terry Smith was awarded the District Award of Merit, Assistant Scoutmaster Joe Ulrich was awarded the Western Star “Star” Award, and Assistant Scoutmaster Chris Wilt (who is staffing Wood Badge this weekend) was awarded the Silver Beaver Award! Keep reading ....

Youth Protection Training (YPT)

Our Troop offered a "live, in-person" Youth Protection Training (YPT) on Tuesday, January 23, for the adults to ensure that EVERYONE is YPT-trained for our recharter in Februrary. The training was held concurrent to the Scouts' Troop meeting and began shortly after 7:00 p.m. (exact room TBD). The training took approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour.
