STEM NOVA Award – Hello World!

Details:
Passionate about STEM?! Here is your opportunity to put it into practice, demonstrate it and turn it into Awards. Note: You will NOT earn Merit Badges through this program – you may only earn a STEM Award.
Please read before you register:
1. You should have earned at least ONE of the following Merit Badges (or must earn separately before you can qualify for this Award)
Animation, Digital Technology, Programming, Robotics. 
2. Preferably 13+ years old (if less than 13 years old, your parent must sign up for the programming websites on your behalf). 
3. Access to an electronic device (computer or tablet) with internet connectivity . 
4. Total time commitment is about 40 hours, but it varies based on your current exposure to programming . 
5. High level expectations to earn this award (details will be shared in the kickoff session post registration): 
> Watch or read at least 3 hours on programming, and prepare notes. 
> Explore and discuss programming concepts with the counselor. 
> Write programs, more programs, ... and show those to the counselor. 
> Visit a place where programming takes place (might be a group event). 
Due to the nature of this module, most of the sessions will take place online and on your own schedule. 
Maximum number of registrations: 10. Will open for sign-up once dates are finalized.

We do NOT have final dates nor do we know the fees yet, but we are hoping to get 2nd session again.  The camp draw is the 2nd week of November and we need to confirm our numbers. Please sign up to show interest – we will communicate the dates and fees once we have finalized our dates.

REMINDER - ALL SCOUTS SHOULD HAVE ROPE AS PART OF THE SCOUT UNIFORM

Reminder – All Scouts should have a 6 foot piece of rope with them at ALL times! You should know the basic Scout knots:
Square Knot, Two Half-Hitches, Taut-Line Hitch, Sheet Bend, Bowline, Clove Hitch, & Timber Hitch

Scouts: Outdoor Skills Enrichment

LLELA offers opportunities to help Scouts work on skills and knowledge related to merit badges. While these programs  are designed to meet badge requirements, members of other youth organizations or children simply interested in these topics are welcome to enroll.
